How is the new Tharaud's Satie?
I do have one disc of Satie played by Jean-Yves Thibaudet who also recorder the complete piano works on five discs.

Haim,
I haven't heard the Thibaudet so can't really compare but I really like the Tharaud. There is a little of everything and it is quite enjoyable. You'll hear a "prepared piano" which uses sheets of paper between the strings to sound like a "straw monkey." Other highlights are the songs (Juliette), Isabelle Faust joins in for a few, a tenor, a trombonist...and the recorded sound is good and what you'd expect from Harmonia Mundi.

By the way, soon I'll join you by getting Tharaud's Bach, "Italian Concertos" album. But first I have to let some time pass to help mend some of my recent overindulgent behavior.

Thanks, Doug, that is if you are still awake. I will probably get the Satie as well as the Florestans doing Dvorak on Hyperion.

Good night,
Haim

The only album from band Temple of the Dog is a tribute to Andrew Wood of Mother Love Bone. Chris Cornell joins other MLB members with McCready and Vedder who latter formed Pearl Jam.

Its a fantastic album with thoughtful lyrics, and killer guitars. Proper grunge from when music was good.
