Thank's for this recommendation! I have a friendly colleague who is very keen on Purcell, and he's always happy to lend cd's to me, and i know he has this Essential Purcell on Hyperion ; )

i have lot's of bits of Purcell on 'various composer' cd's, but to find a 'Purcell' cd i need to rummage though my gorgeous Alia Vox collection to find the only one i own.
However it really is a splendid one, now playing...

Hi David,

Did you know they are touring this year? I am seeing them at the MEN Arena with OMD as support in December. Maybe there are still tickets left for your nearest venue.

Classic pop - but sounding rather bright and thin on the new ATC SCM7s.

Thanks Stu and Mark for the heads up , problem is Wembly, Cardiff, NEC all a bit of a pilgrimage. Consider it may be feasable but need significant time off work to make it , need 2 days. Tell me, are they are awesome in concert ??

An ECM-lite week for me, continuing with CD3 of this box set:

Which features a nice programme of Stravinsky, Vaughan-Williams and Sibelius.
