Two sides of Glasper - his Trio and his band Experiment. I prefer the Trio.

Nigel - great choice. Do you have Personal Mountains as well. Recorded a week before Nude Ants in Tokyo, it is a superb set. The recording quality is better than Nude Ants. For some reason it was not released for 10 years by ECM but it is widely regarded as one of Jarrett's best albums. Certainly a very valuable documentation of the European Quartet.

Its nothing like cold play,There is a bit of u2 like guitar.
Its on Spotty. You can see a video on Amazon.
Stu

I am just playing the first track and about 50 seconds in, when the band kicks in proper it definitely has a Coldplay type rhythm which I could see how comparisons be made. The vocals are nothing like it though. Will play more later. We're off for a long walk with the hounds.

Pres and Teddy and Oscar - a collection of Lester Young's performances in small groups with pianists Teddy Wilson and Oscar Peterson. The up tempo numbers on this album swing like mad while the ballads feature some of the most polished and soulful playing I've ever heard. I've not been able to take it off the platter so far today.

I agree, takes me back.Definitely a laid back in the dark sort of album IMO. Sounds good on a sunny day too.

Adrian (or indeed anyone), slightly off topic but how do you rate 'Sun Bear Concerts'?

This is a lovely presented CD and that includes the music. I'm actually quite blown away by the sonics and emotion of this version of Mahlers Symphony #6.

Rather superb and if you are thinking of buying it, well do. It is rather a large scale work to digest. Read the reviews on amazon.com
