UFO was alright, but got distracted by this album

It's great. I must have talked about ten people into buying that album, and their debut, Quiet Is The New Loud.
I bought both Feist albums after loving her voice on a couple of the tracks.

I am really enjoying it - consistently good as I work through it. Often when I try an album out on Spotify, if it does not engage quickly I am onto something else. This one is staying on and I will try the other one and Feist as well later. Thanks

You're welcome. Maybe not as good, but probably worth looking up The Whitest Boy Alive too - Erlend Oye from KoC's other band.
More than anything, Kings of Convenience remind me of these guys:

Just put it on.

Judy Dyble - Talking With Strangers
This is an album that will slowly draw you in, with the epic 19-minute Harpsong concluding the journey through Judys' music-less years. If you want a change of pace from squarepusher, then this is right up your street![]()
Yup, this arrived for me during the week. Lovely. And with a great cast of musicians liberally sprinkled about.

It's just like the '60s, a warped album, manufacturer or shop storage?
Playing very nicely on silver disc here.
My Original copy is still a nice piece of the Black Stuff!

Ha. When it gets to last track, Parallel Lines, listen to the guitar, and then the piano at the end. I don't normally talk about how well stuff's recorded, but it sounds incredible.
Not sure if it got a mention in another thread I just looked at, but from the best gangster film of all time:

UFO was alright, but got distracted by this albumso now on Spotify. Very nice and mellow, sort of a male EBTG feel to it. Might pick this up.
Hi Adrian, I guess you know I don't buy much contemporary pop/rock, preferring to concentrate on expanding my jazz and classical collection. However, Kings of Convenience are one of the very few contemporary bands I have time for, and this album is simply superb. I think it has a slight edge on their debut, "Quiet is the New Loud", but both are great and richly reward repeated listening. I can't wait for their new album next month - thanks to Voltaire for the heads up!
Anyway, currently spinning, on the not-black stuff:

Benedikt Jahnel Trio - Modular Concepts
Posted on: 04 September 2009 by Lontano
Thanks Nigel - yep I think I preferred Riot on an Empty Street, but that is often the case with the one you hear first - both good though. I might be near Fopp Cambridge tomorrow so may well pick them up.
The Benedikt Jahnel album is one of my favourite jazz albums this year which you alerted me to earlier this year.
Cheers

Sea Change - Beck.
This one's never out of the player at the moment, think I'll have to get the vinyl.
