Now playing...thank you for the recommendation Haim
What an interesting album cover, so reminscent of the working class favorite Lowry, except that in this piece the shadow is more important than the object?
PS- I had translated this as 'The path of the black cat' but having looked on amazon I humbly correct myself to 'The black cat's footsteps'
You cannot go wrong with any of the Anouar Brahem albums. Try Thimar and Le Voyage De Sahar as well.

Cheers Adrian, I will.
PS- There is such a strong feeling in this album of the artist crying out "Define me!"

Did a lot of driving today and played a few Beatles albums getting ready for next week. I have listened to more Beatles this week than I have in the last few years (does not take much).
What I came to realise whilst playing Rubber Soul, was just how annoying the stereo mix of this album is, with instruments left and vocals right. I really enjoyed the album but it began to annoy me - I found it more noticeable in the car. It is making me think again that the mono boxset probably has more going for it than I had originally thought.

I bet that is not too shabby?
Very enjoyable. Grado RS1's regarded as very revealing, not too compromised in this context!

Gordon,
It is that simple; if you enjoy Epigraphs you will really like this one:

An it is an ECM as well.

Beautiful, simply beautiful...so confident and independant but so in need of validation?

Gordon - I can see at least one reason why you would like this album - a certain Mr Surman.

Continue on the ECM path that has been opened, tonite:
Gary Burton Quintet - Dreams So Real
(Oh, and Annouar Brahem is amongst my most played artists - all of his recordings are great - and the one concert I have been to very intimate, too)
cheers
Stefan

Are these from JPC? - if so that seems to be pretty quick delivery.

Yes, five Jarrett CDs arrived this afto - really pleased with the service from JPC. They're vying for time in my 5x with a batch of Harmonia Mundi CDs from Amazon, that also came today. It's a hard life

Adrian, it's funny to see what you listen to in Skype and only shortly after that on this forum. Interesting effect...
