What did you decide? I was in Resident Records in Brighton today. They are not sure that they can get any more copies of the mono box set now. I think it is very disappointing that it seems to potentially be out of print so quickly.
I have being doing the same as you this week and I am actually how surprised how good my CD's sound. Makes you wonder how good these remasters are going to be.

I will try to paste here, if it does not work search "Cover Art"
**** FOR MAC ****
I go to amazon.com, find the recording/cover art:
1. "control/click" on the artwork
2. a window opens, select "copy image address"
come to Naim forum, click What Listen thread and at last entry click "Reply"
3. in the message window, click the second icon from the right at the top of the window.
4. place cursor in Image URL line and use "apple key/letter "V" simultaneously, the image address should show on the line.
5. click "ok" in the image window
6. text can be added before or after the image window
7. click "post now"
hopefully that helps some, assume pc would be similar but use mouse right click as appropriate
I look forward to your listening habits.

I'm still scouring the internet to find a good price for the stereo box set. It does annoy me that had I been more decisive I could have pre-ordered this for £135 from Amazon last week, yet now they're up to £169.
But as you say, it's surprising how good the previous versions sound, especially the remastered Yellow Submarine which came out in 1999. Maybe that's a foretaste of what we might expect this week. But then I've also got all the LP's, some of which I purchased since I bought my first LP12 so they're still in pretty good condition (others enjoyed many years on an old BSR turntable! - strangely they sounded great then too, bit crackly now though).
So what a dilemma. maybe I'll just buy 'Abbey Road' and see how it goes after that. Just can't justify the mono set, and can't bear the thought of being ripped off by my old school friend, Guy Hands, who is obviously trying to recover some of his losses at EMI!
Regards,
CB

I just this week learned that he passed away, earlier this year. For me, this is a sad loss of a Musician that wandered between cultures, not seeking the cheap effect, but really on a Learning quest. Downloaded this - last (?) - album of him, and really love it. Black Orpheus is my favorite.
RIP, Charlie, RIP...

This is possibly my favourite R'n'B/Hip-Hop album.
