Nic - I have seen Andy many times and he is always excellent. Saw him again in May this year with the band on this album and was not disappointed.

Just read the Sage website and the concert you are going to sounds very interesting. Five sets and goes on until midnight.

Andy Sheppard's handpicked quintet of his favourite musical collaborators - percussionist Kuljit Bhamra, Italian pianist Rita Marcotulli, drummer Seb Rochford and bass player Michel Benita - perform a five-set concert featuring different combinations of musicians, capitalising on the flexibility of Hall Two, which has five sides on some levels (and ten on others!).

Adrian,

Thanks for that I had not read the details. Perhaps I might be better taking my son rather than my wife, as she will be snoring after 10.30!

David,

I think this one sounds very good.

How are you getting on with monos vs stereos? I am preferring the stereo.

Started with the Monos and have been very pleased so far. The packaging is a delight. The sound very good. Have not made many comparisons yet. However today started on the Stereo versions and Rubber soul was the first to be spun. Tremendous soundstage and clarity. Now listening with awe to Magical mystery tour.

"Immediate gratification"

I think the whole process is becoming a journey of rediscovery. A very enjoyable journey indeed. Cool

Finding this an emotional listen. "Carry that weight" onwards.
Marking the close of the recording career of the greatest group in music history.

Fred Simon recommended this album some years ago on this forum, and it has been among my favourites since.

Why? In honour of my brother Chris who first played them to me and who, aged 42, died yesterday.
