The Rite of Spring and Pulcinella Suite, Stravinsky.
Yoel Levi and the Atlanta SO.
Interesting music, both pieces so different, the later sounding like it came from an earlier age.It passed the first test ie the CD stayed on 'til the end.

The system has never sounded so good and I am so up for a good listening session. It could be a late night!! Apart from the fact that I am taking my daughter to the doctors first thing in the morning. We'll see.

Hi Gordon,
Funily enough I was talking to Adrian about Mr Springsteen earlier on and that's the only Bruce studio album I don't have now. I have collected the Japanese Replica Sleeve versions of all the CD's so need to look out for this one. "The River" was pretty hard to get hold of.

You either get them or you don't. Luckily I am one of the chosen few.

A wonderful, wonderful album, full of little pleasures, not least of which is 'Somewhere that's green'...

Lots of the Cocteau Twins on youtube.

One of the all-time great albums. I feel privileged just to listen to this. "Visions" is one of favourite songs ever, and being present to hear him sing it at the O2 Arena was one of those "hair stand up on the back of your neck" experiences. Genius.
Just as a slight aside, if anyone watches these X-Factor type programmes on TV - have you noticed that no-one can carry off a Stevie song?

To go on a perfectly calm summer evening with dinner on the screened porch.
