Just the 9.99 CD. Wasn't going to buy it but well, somehow I gave it to the guy at the checkout. The special edition vinyl/cd/dvd at 90 quid is way too much. Enjoying it so far on my trip home.

The Decemberists - Castaways And Cutouts

Bought this for the Mrs as they used to be, along with EBTG, her favourite band.

I have played the album again and it improves on second listen. Time Flies is the best thing there and the 11 min version of that is good ( I had not been too excited by the short version of Time Flies when they released that).

It is a grower which is often a good thing as that means longevity. I like the idea of a late night listen - I think the album will be suited to that as there appears to be a fair amount of acoustic PT style guitar on it.

I would say the SE was not worth 60 quid. Mind you, if any member living in the norwich area would like to hear the 5.1 production values I would be happy to dem and reconsider its value. The Book design is the same as Insurgentes, but LP size.

I'm sure it will grow with each listen and probably repeat my experience of 'In Absentia' when I first bought that. Beleive it or not, I was initially underwhelmed with my Vinyl copy Eek

I think the melodies will catch hold first, closely followed by Richards keyboards which seem to have more prominence.

I'm gonna wait till it gets dark and then give CD2 some stick. Hopefully the 250 won't shut down Big Grin

Sweet Billy Pilgrim - Twice Born Men

I was just about to play this, when I checked MySpace and found this AMAZING Black Cab Sessions version of 'There Will It End'. The Koko gig is not far away Smile. This music would appeal to Diccuss I reckon.

I read that pre Mercury Prize nomination, they had only sold 400 copies of this. Hopefully, if that is the case, sales have picked up a bit since.

This is a bitter sweet experience, remeberance of a previous life, a missed concert and the memory of my dearly departed, still hughely missed after all these years, best friend.......

The analysis must go on, riddles to be solved, the continuing enigma....

Munch - when I get the vinyl out of store I will play Pavlov's Dog....more precious memories
A difficult night

When I bought it it was on David Sylvian's label. It will be interesting to see how much EMI has promoted the release since they put it out in June. I will ask someone who knows. The tour will probably help as well.
