This is my favourite The The LP, Dean. Definitely worth a listen if you like Infected.

Thanks to the previous thread for reminding me of this wonderful artist.
Will join you, downloaded "Canon" this morning as Mark recommended.

I like this a lot.
I know she has been around long enough to not be derivative......
but what keeps running through my mind is "combines the angst of Alanis, the intensity of Tori, and the acoustic-pop sensibilities of Shawn".
Very very nice.
Thanks to Mark for the entry suggestion.

In need of some rock'n'roll tonight. We enjoy a Monday holiday here, so sunday evening is not as blue as it can be
Gentle warm up with Elliott Murphy, Live Hot Point:
One of the rare live performance I attended to, from which I also have the recording. A nice performance from Elliott Murphy in 1989, with a little help from some friends.

Few letters and a world of difference. I am glad that you did not have to go as far as Kim Novak...
Hope that you are having the same gorgeous weather we are experiencing here.

CD Track 5 'Lightning Crashes'... while I choose my next album. I love this track but can take or leave the rest of their ouput.

Thanks Andy, that one was one I had in mind to get. The great thing about The The is that they were popular enough so that they can now be found in charity shops for next to nothing I think I paid 2.99 for Infected.

Only my second spin, Adrian. Not the easiest music in the world but I feel obliged to try. One of the composers, Eitan Steinberg, graduated from the Rupin Music Academy where my father used to teach English.

We are, Haim, thank you.
And thanks for your patience with my strange sense of humor imposing on your post.
Enjoy your Sunday, taking photos maybe ?

Turbo charging with The Hydromatics, Powerglide:
Rocking harder thanks to some guys from Detroit/Sweden/The Netherlands. Hellacopters meet Sonic's Rendezvous Band.
This one really rocks! And grooves too, with a small but powerful horn section on some tracks.
I'm really fond of this album. And it comes with a nice surprise, the best song lies hidden at the end of the last track.

OK thanks. I am debating whether to be more selective on New Series purchases because as you say, not always the easiest music to listen to. It is available to listen to on Spotify so will try there first. Thanks

I couldn't resist any longer...
I don't really get much quality time to listen to music and I'm always torn between discovering new music (which I love) and playing the old favorites that I miss? Anyone else have this problem or is it just me?

Absolutely. I am trying just to keep up with new release purchases of only artists I already like (quite a few) and not to keep searching for the new, unheard of stuff to me for a while. I have a very big backlog of albums that need listening to properly as well as many old faves. Bad time of year though as all the new releases are coming at us thick and fast.

I'm trying to find a nice medium and restrict myself to particular established artists and avoid hype over new bands or producers. If they are as good as the media/people say they'll be around in a few years still and will be worthy of investigation.
