Ever since I played a side role in the "Amadeus" theatre play and heard parts of this, every evening, I was fascinated by the Gran Partita - The Herreweghe recording being one of my dearest.

Fleetwood Mac's last album of any note was, as most sensitive people accept, Bare Trees. This album was highly listenable athough decidely different from the Fleetwood Mac masterpiece that was Then Play On. Bare Trees was dominated by the exceptional guitar playing of Danny Kirwan - who now lives as a recluse/tramp/? - still after leaving Fleetwood Mac, Danny went on to release a wonderful solo recording Second Chapter. This is superb music - not as aggressive as early material and not as dreary as the post-Green, post-Kerwan Mac, sorry I just can't get on with AOR soft rock music - perhaps if I lived in an elevator, oh never mind. Still don't let my prejudices let you miss out on hearing this very fine record if you get the chance - Second Chapter by Danny Kerwan.
Please click here for a sample and please click to hear Danny play the blues.

...I had a friend who use to go to Trade in the late 90's he loved the place.
Dean..
Trade at Turnmills was my generations 'Studio 64'. I was genuinely gutted when it closed. I spent many a happy weekend in the 90's doing the clubbing triangle of 'Love muscle @ The Fridge', 'Trade @ Turnmills' and 'DTPM @ Trocadero'.
Gordon
Yep I know them clubs Voltaire I was a few years earlier than you my generations clubs were Spectrums @ Heaven, Futures @ The Santuary, The Trip @ The Astoria and The Mud Club @ Busby's also assorted other places.
And this album sums up the music of the time.

inspired by the gospal according ... on sky arts a few weeks back. Must now get everything from 1970 to 77!
Paul be careful as the best sounding discs are not the remasters.
