You got the point Gordon.
But if they can't remember my face they will remember the noise for sure.

Too true!

I love the David Bryne quote (attributed) ...

quote:
People will remember you better if you always wear the same outfit.

I did, and its shite.

Well, as for as the live album is concerned, I respectfully disagree munch. It's different from Angel Station for sure, more of a straight rocker, but it's a powerful album. That's what was interesting with MMEB: it would change all the time.

Never seen the DVD though. And I can understand one would not like Steve Waller's vocals.

Stu, (a bit off topic for the music room) but imho Walt Whitman is a true giant of Literature, centuries ahead of his time with a humane insight which beggars belief for the time he lived in. His work stands as a shining testament to New America.

I hope one of the works you have is 'Leaves of grass'?

As you know I am a writer. I have won some competitions and been published. I have lost a lot more competitions and been rejected loads. There is one Whitman poem that always lifts my spirits.

quote:
POETS to come! orators, singers, musicians to come!
Not to-day is to justify me, and answer what I am for;
But you, a new brood, native, athletic, continental, greater than before known,
Arouse! Arouse—for you must justify me—you must answer.

I myself but write one or two indicative words for the future,
I but advance a moment, only to wheel and hurry back in the darkness.

I am a man who, sauntering along, without fully stopping, turns a casual look upon you,
and
then
averts his face,
Leaving it to you to prove and define it,
Expecting the main things from you.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I didn't know such a thing existed, but if yours and the reviews on Amazon are to be believed, it's a collector, you better keep it Winker

Smile Smile SmileSnap, crackle and pop Smile Smile Smile

After more than 20 years as a CD only man, I bought a TT this week. So it gives me great pleasure to say, first up, on the black stuff

A huge thank you to Fixedwheel who has just stopped by the house to sort out a phono stage for me whilst I wait for mine to arrive from Naim. Really appreciated.

Could be a late night, I have loads of vinyl to start working my way through now.

Thanks. Yes it is. Gone for a cherry LP12 with Akito, Stageline and Dynavector 20XL. I have put this into my music room with the Nait 5i and Motives. Sounds great. Over time I will see where I want to take it and how far I upgrade, but for now I am going to spend time just enjoying the vinyl.

Actually I retract the question because it doesn't matter.

You are a music lover, be it on your main system or a 2nd system. Music, not hifi.

You have found pleasure from cds so I just know that you are going to reap huge rewards from vinyl.

After starting work in Harrods in 74.
The place was full of poofs.
Please dont take that the wrong but i had never come across a gay till then.
A few are still good friends to this day.

Stu, your prose is wonderfully authentic in its staccato observation. (time ran out), (the place was full of poofs)

Harrods and indeed retail in general are populated with poofs. You should consider yourself fortunate that you had never come across a gay...

Cool
