My today's playlist proves that sometimes only the best will do - and when it comes to duos it doesn't get much better - I'm still devastated by the split, but understand that after his wife's death Dave didn't want to continue.

Of course, many will scoff, but the musicianship on their albums is first rate, the production excellent and the sound quality superb. And if you don't appreciate at least one of their tunes then there's no pleasing you and all I can say is gertcha, you must be snooker loopy or living in Margate.

Adrian,

You are a man of rare taste, these would cheer up any day, particularly the Coleman Hawkins one. Love that long intro on the first track when he comes in with that great solo. One of my favourite Burrell albums.

Hope you are feeling better.

Regards

Nic

Working my way through a load of Analogue Productions 45 RPM Hoffman Remastered Vinyl.

These are expensive slabs of vinyl, but they really are something a little special and worth the outlay. Superb lush sound quality and a beautiful quality vinyl and packaging.
