I bought it at the weekend on vinyl to replace an old copy that I wore out years ago!
My favourite Cray album is Bad Influence. Hard to believe I first heard that 25 years ago!

Been listening to her "Guilty" album a lot recently.
Having listened to the vinyl so many times when I was a teenager, it must be transparent now!
Is the remastered CD any good ?
Not sure on that, I downloaded as amazon 256k mp3 and put it on a cd-r.
Perhaps my ears are showing their age, but playing the mp3 track 6 (Who's Sorry Now) pretty loud, her voice is glorious and just before Barry Gibb enters the second time solo at 1:30, he breathes a vibrato right before his lyric that just gives me chills. Spellbinding stuff.

Tim Buckley - Blue Afternoon
quote:One of the great rock vocalists of the 1960s, Tim Buckley drew from folk, psychedelic rock, and progressive jazz to create a considerable body of adventurous work in his brief lifetime. His multi-octave range was capable of not just astonishing power, but great emotional expressiveness, swooping from sorrowful tenderness to anguished wailing.

This Beethoven is clearly not for the crowd that insists Beethoven can only be about "furled brow" aggressive type A percussive style playing. This is such a necessary (and welcome) contrast to hear Murray Perahia make music. He just cannot make an ugly sound if he tried. If you are not focused and paying attention you might initially jump to the wrong conclusion. Rather, grab the score and upon repeated listens you will start to hear the musicality and the nuance within the architecture. Really amazing actually and full of refined beauty in my opinion.
Murray Perahia is really one of the best pianists of our time....

What a great album. The album cover art and the recording itself could almost be ECM (a compliment). Stripped back and trimmed down! Thanks Jeff, another winner.
PS-is that Emmanuelle Seigner (Mrs Roman Polanski) providing backing tracks on the stand out track 'Back to you'?

As Beck might say, just like a paper tiger...
Some more awesome bass from Herbie Flowers on this track. So good, Air made a career of this song.
Everyone needs this record. C'est magnifique.
