"Still...You Turn Me On" wins the award for the best use of the word "ladder" in a popular song. Smile

Stole this off the lad, as it had a few mentions here recently.

Adrian,

What do you make of this?

Haim - I have heard brief bits of it on JPC so far. My copy should arrive next week. Will let you know my thoughts.

Adrian,

I am shocked to learn that I am in posession of an ECM which you don't have. I hope that Eicher does not hear about it..

Good idea - a complaint to Eicher. When I was in Oz, as far away from Munich as I could get, I seemed to get the new releases before Europe. Now I am back in the UK, I am behind the game as the local UK distributor went out of business.

Gradually catching up now.

Late find (already from 1982), but great, nevertheless:

I've had a Tull itch all day, and upon getting home Dun Ringill was the scratch.

Nigel - glad you found this CD - thanks. This is really very good. Just the kind of piano jazz trio I find really interesting. European, adventurous, tuneful - perhaps a cross between E.S.T and Wolfert Brederode.

wow, what a great atmosphere in this recording. the old man manages to capture both with his comments between the songs and teh music. Oh, and Huw - how right: convenient to play this from HD instead of goign through the inconvenience of flipping discs, in the middle... Winker

cheers
Stefan

Glad you like it Adrian. It's one of my best finds of the year so far, and I've already played it several times since I bought it at the weekend.

Right now, this classic:

Dreaming of the Flatcap 2x I'm hoping to receive tomorrow... Smile

WHY? because they make magical, floaty, tuneful, uplifting, fluid sounds that take you away from this world and relieve you of your troubles, sweet. Smile

King Size,

I like all these bands, so I listened to some samples: indeed this music suits me.
Thanks for your suggestion. I'll try to buy this album.

Andy Sheppard - Movements in Colour

Not through my first listen, yet, but - I mean - you can judge when you hear something magnificent, can't you ?

This is one of the most promising releases of the last few months.

cheers

Paul re: An Emerald City they sound really good, judging by their 4 tk EP, a bit like Loreena Mckennitt's backing band, a blend of eastern, folk and rock.
Any idea who is selling this (Circa Scaria)?
