I love this album. The sound of one instrument curls both from and to the other and then the other until you left with a cinemascope soundscape (now called widescreen I believe) that never loses the sense of individual instruments or the musical composition as a whole. Wonderful. Thanks to you know who for introducing me.

quote:Cold Cave are a quartet by way of Philadelphia and New York, led by hardcore punk musician Wesley Eisold (American Nightmare/Some Girls/Give Up the Ghost). Rounding out the band are former members of Xiu Xiu, Parts and Labor, and Prurient.
"Love Comes Close instantly sold out when it was released in August and will be re-issued by Matador on November 3rd. The warm, rich synth pop sounds are laced with equal parts of romance and nihilism. Cold Cave is possibly the only band ever to have been compared to both Erasure and Whitehouse."

Anybody have any recommendations by the New Model Army ?
I'm afraid I can't help you much on this one Jeff. I've only got Impurity, which I had liked at the time of its release, but I've not listened to it for about 15 years! (Time to revisit it then...)
I've seen them live too, but I have no recollection except from the venue...
To summarize it brutally, I've missed NMA altogether.
But you've intrigued me with this Justin Sullivan album. Unfortunately it seems to be sold out locally. What do you think of Tales From The Road ?

Tales From the Road is the Justin and Friends album I referred to. I like it alot and it includes a number of live versions from Navigating The Stars. Powerful, but mostly acoustic. A voice you either like or not so much. I like, and have enjoyed NTS since somebody originally posted it here.
Have a great weekend, Maurice
