I've had this for a full week now and have had three full listens. What a surprisingly wonderful standout recording (Thanks Haim for the heads up on it!!!). This is very difficult and challenging music (for me, anyways) to listen to and work through. I have to work very hard to understand or come to terms with it. The reward certainly does not just fall in your lap.

But Jenny Lin ably takes this music and handles it with verve. You cannot argue against her convincing interpretation and connection with this music. Haenssler, as usual, have given us here yet another fine example of how to record a piano. Very realistic and beautiful. It is a winning combo.

Because I have heard what Jenny Lin can do I am going to be picking up a few of her earlier recordings too. (Ernest Block, Valentin Silvestrov, and Preludes to a Revolution for starters)

Ahhhh, Beethoven!!! I just love chamber music. A joy to listen to and fun to play to boot. It's the closest thing to making out with someone without actually, ahem...well you know what I mean Smile It is that close interplay with someone and that exchange of dialog; It is life itself....
