Nicely atmospheric - Good HiFi music, better than on tranny I suspect.

Maurice Ravel / Anne Queffélec: Piano Works
Le tombeau de Couperin
Pavane pour une infante défunte
Menuet antique
Miroirs
Jeux d'eau
Valses nobles et sentimentales
Gaspard de la nuit
Sonatine for Piano
Prélude for Piano in A minor
Sérénade grotesque
Menuet sur le nom d'Haydn
A la manière de Chabrier
A la manière de Borodine
Possibly my most favorite Ravel interpreter, Anne Queffélec. Of course, I have been infatuated with Anne Queffélec for most of my life. Around 38 years ago I bought an Erato LP of Anne Queffélec playing Chopin Scherzi and Impromtus. I do not know how or why I picked this album (along with two others that would be the first 3 LP's I ever bought.) These albums are treasures to me and I am sure the sound I seek from a piano can be directly linked to that beautiful Steinway she played and that I listened to repeatedly as a child in the early 70's.

I remember when Wuthering Heights was released. An ethereal and very weird Kate dancing in the woods. Very strange. Very moving. I couldn't understand a word. I had a sense that I was seeing something quite significant in the evolution of popular music. I don't think I was mistaken.

Lisa Hannigan - Sea Sew; Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions - Through The Devil Softly
Really enjoying Sea Sew. Played that a lot this weekend; and my toddler really enjoys dancing along to it.
Not sure who originally posted it, but thanks!

Hi, I'm guessing you must have a promo copy - what's it like?
Hello Chief Chirpa,
I'm guessing this album hasn't reached Endor yet, but it's available on earth in The Netherlands

And I copy all the albums I have to a harddisk for replay with my Logitech Duet.
And the album: at first I just scanned it, because I had bought a lot of CD's last week. First impression was "a bit too sweet" compared to the other new stuff, but on sunday I listened to the album a few times and I really enjoyed it. To illustrate: I have passages of the first song singing in my head since sunday and can't wait to get home so I can listen to it again...

Regards,
HF
