No, not really. Oh, and I forgot about poor old Gluck

I'd sure like to hear Ivan Moravec's Debussy, Franck, and Ravel. Since getting the Chopin Nocturnes, based on your recommendation, I've been meaning to get some more !

Doug,
This is an outstanding Moravec disc (playing & sound) though it is out of print and very hard to get:

There are two used copies available on Amazon US for a mere $150 each:

Melissa Manchester: Don't Cry Out Loud
'78 Release. The US Nautilus Half-speed LP.
Pity, this audiophool record does not sound as good as the original stock release.
I don't know the intent of this disc, but it's all so midrange-centric and no feet left on the music.

James Taylor: Gorilla
'75 Release. The US Nautilus Half-speed LP.
Another disappointment.
I prefer the original issue.

Rory Gallagher - Against the Grain
I think this is his best studio album, not sure why it is not usually so highly rated.

Godspeed You Black Emperor - Slow Riot for New Zero Kanada
The second track on this EP is just brilliant!

Lafayette Afro-Rock Band, Darkest Light / The Best Of The Lafayette Afro-Rock Band
Amazing!

quote:From AllMusic:
their music indeed embraces both Afrobeat and Western psychedelia in equal measure, complete with hard-edged guitar riffs, incendiary sax breaks, and blistering rhythms
Amazing!

Spent some time yesterday with these weirdos.
Ricky Estrin & The Nightcats, Twisted
Apparently they are seasoned veterans, but I had never heard of them before. Quality harp blues with funny lyrics. I confess I bought it for the cover... but it's pure fun nonetheless!

Have you ever heard any 70's german funk ?
Colours of Funk
The German Sound Library of Golden Ring & Happy Records
Great beats, organic toms, elastic bass, farfisa and wah wah, what's better ?
I already had got some 70's german funk and I must say these guys knew their stuff. (Never posted here, 'cause it's from soundtracks to erotic 70's TV programs and I don't want to be moderated for a cover a bit too funky...
Never seen the aforementioned programs - no, really -, but the music is really good. No kidding.)
