Nigel,

I like the picture better than the music.

In a similar vein to his Bergen neighbours, Kings of Convenience, here's Sondre Lerche's debut...

Kind of quirky in a Hunky Dory way, with some great melodies.

On LP thanks to Deb's recommendation:

On CD:

Raw, raucous and really good.

Unfortunately these showed me a lack of resolution in my current setup compared to what I've gotten used to with the CD5x.
I know it's logical, but I just ripped these albums last night and listened to them through the SB Duet for the first time.
I noticed some parts were "missing" or kept in the background as far as I could recall from memory.
But then again they are still a great listen even without those parts! Big Grin

Jeniferever - Nangijala

My first hearing of ambient music, it is certainly different.
The female vocalist sounds very similar to Tanita Tikaram.

Among the first CDs I ever bought,19-20 years ago.
I still remember the good times I used to listen
to John Zorn VERY loud on my Discman & Stax headphones on the bus to university and watching the astounded faces of other passangers.
Hammerhead!
Priceless.

Now I prefer my creative Zen 8 Gb & Sennheiser CX400 inn-ear headphones, at moderate levels.

I went to see John Zorn and Lou Reed in concert in New York last year. On paper, potential to be magical. Rather than the 11 seconds of Hammerhead on Naked City, this was a whole concert of Hammerhead type noise, feedback and ear shattering squeaky tuneless sax. I think the guy is very inventive but this was not a pleasure. I decided to save my eardrums and made an early exit.
