I believe this is the first time I have been aware that my ears are the weak link in the sound, not the playing, not the recording and not the system.

Ainda, by Madredeus.

The melancholic mood suits a rainy Sunday, but it nevertheless fills me with a warming nostalgia of nights in the Alfama's fado clubs.

A one hit wonder, but a great one: the irresistible Sleeping Satellite. As for the rest of the album, well... sounds dated, even if the production is flawless. I'll save In Your Care and maybe a couple of others.

Hi Haim
I owned and listened to that a lot at one time, I am not sure what happened to the disc, I have misplaced it somewhere. When in the right mood, it is mesmerizing and the recording is beyond reproach.

Enjoy

A brilliant track imho. I remember playing it over and over. It stil brings back memories of that particular point in my life.

Excellent Jeff!

As you correctly surmised earlier, this album needs a decent volume only because the production is so spartan and it is easy to miss a subtle inflection of Ani's voice.
