Listening to this almost 55years old music, shows where modern recording techniques have it all wronge?

Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald do "Porgy and Bess"

You couldn't find a better example of the 50s' big band sound, and both Armstrong and Ella have memorable moments.

But in the end it's a little dated and boring.

Even the way back machine couldn't keep this one fresh.

Seasick Steve 'Man From Another Time'. Picked it up at the gig last night, and very nice it is too, as was the gig.

Last time I listened to this I didn't enjoy it at all. It must have been a bad day, as on this listening it is great.

Mrs had this on in the car,it sounded dreadful, so decided to put it on the main system:-



Oh that is so much better.
