Stan Rogers - Turnaround

For those (presuambly Canucks) who are familiar with Stan Rogers, no explanation is required, but for the rest, he was a huge name in Canadian folk music (he died young in a plane accident). Although this album doesn't contain any of his biggest 'hits' and is not, amongst Stan afficionados, held in the same regard as Fogarty's Cove or Northwest Passage, it is my favourite Stan Rogers album. Perhaps what makes it stand out for me is its cohesiveness--there's a melancholic mood throughout to bind it, while songs like 'Second Effort' and 'Turnaround' give it something special, making for a great 40 minutes.

On the black stuff, my original mono copy. Haven't played it in yonks and I'm surprised how good it sounds!

Bit of Kate on aged vinyl - not my favourite version of Wuthering Heights though...
