It's good to see some Alan Parsons Project round here. I grew up with those early albums up to Eye in the Sky. Still love them.

I bought that when it came out. A good track - it was talked about as their Supper's Ready at the time. I was a big fan in those early days and fondly remember a gig in Plymouth pre Script where I spent the day helping the band set up.

I to bought this on day of release and went to see them at the Bournemouth Winter Gardens only a handful of people there. Was a great night with Fish telling jokes between the songs while Mark Kelly kept ringing the hospital to see if his wife had given birth.

I have just read that John Mayhew recently passed away. John was the drummer in Genesis before Phil Collins. Trespass was his finest musical hour.

This could be the last one before the mrs comes home and tells me to turn the music down... Frown

Janis Ian-Billie's Bones

Why, Because all her albums are wonderful but 'Dead men walking' is her best track, trust me.

It's one of my favourites by the Barking Bard. I went to a book reading of his recently and he was saying how the line "I saw two shooting stars" was written while he walked down an alley way which is on my nightly dog walk (trivial fact given for no reason)...it's added a new dimension to a small ritual.

Haim, I think the wonderful Bavouzet recordings are playing a trick on your perception : ) Bavouzet is actually the 555 and Michelangeli is the CDX2 (without XPS2) Eek Maybe on an individual piece here or their he might play faster but overall Bavouzet is the more fleet of "fingers". It may appear to be slower because of the wonderful accoustics (and beautiful sounding piano) plus Bavouzet's clean playing and control.

Cheers,
Doug

Doug,

You are probably right. I am just a Nait person and not able to use esoteric pieces as the 555 to make a point. Nevertheless, playing the Preludes and then the Images back to back I still give Bavouzet the Nait 3 sound which I do not see as inferior but different in character to the 5i.

Regards,
Haim

For me, the best album the Project did. Never tire of it and it sounds superb.

On a prog roll...maybe not considered cool, but brings back fond memories of teenage dorkyness

Didn't he record this with his son? I'm still working through the old stuff with Stereotomy. Munch has started a dedicated thread.
