Hi Paul, got to be this...

Ok Chief. Bought this pm at HMV along with an Eagles cd as two for a tenner. I'm off to play it in an hour or so. If it's better than'Fly or Die' i'll be delighted

Thank's for the tip. Paul.

This is sooo much better than Fly or Die (and Seeing Sounds), plus there are two versions to try, electronic and 'live'. Back when NERd and the Neptunes ruled the world (and Neptunes' productions were Pharrell and Chad, which I don't think they have been for a long time).

I've also just found out today about a 'live', re-recorded version of Pharrell's solo album 'In my mind', called 'Out of my mind', produced by ?uestlove from the roots and James Poyser. Philadelphia, represent!

Cheers, reubs. Sounds interesting.

In Search Of... is probably the only Pharrell album I can listen to without the help of the fast forward button (Clones is probably the worst for this), but I like In My Mind. I like That Girl with Snoop and Don't try to come up in my ear talking all that raspy....

Paul, in case you're wondering, your In Search Of... will be the live version that sounds a little more polished and loses a few skits - hope you like it.

William Fitzsimmons - The sparrow and the crow

Prompted by a desire for a fancy-schmancy new dac, this arrived in the post today. Given it a spin and seems good, but with just a quick once through whilst doing other things, it's too early to pass judgement.

Not played this in ages...

I don't really do lists, but I noticed from the other thread that this doesn't make the NME's top 50 of the decade...

Doh. No wonder I never read any music magazines.

John Mayer

a classic really rather good album which has only been released three days - I will wait, ah, thirty years days and then will declare it what it deserves.

Try "Crossroads" .... not many artists, with their playing alone, can convey the greatness of the original song, acknowledge/pay homage to spectacular versions of the same song by previous artists, and combine that with their unique contributions to take that song to what may be a peak experience - geez, just go listen to it.

Most everything else is up to the (high) level he set with Continuum.

p.s. Pino and Steve J deserve some credit here also

"Yugoslavian guitarist Miroslav Tadic is presented here in his solo debut on which he performs a suite of his own arrangements of east european folk songs, Suite in A minor, BWV 995 by J.S. Bach and 2 original compositions. Being a classically trained, improvising musician, Tadic's approach is unique (especially on the Bach lute suite) and his classical Ramirez guitar is vibrant and lucid on this recording which took place at the Harmony Hall in Matsumoto, Japan."

Just finished my first listen (on phones).
Compared to the studio recording, that sounded like a demo and this sounded like... MAGIC!!! This album really was written with Orchestra & Choir in mind, with George Martin's fairy dust still floating around Abbey Road. I'll play the DVD tonight and let the briks have it big time over the weekend.

So on first hearing 9.999/10 Big Grin
