Probably the album of the year. seeing them in Manchester in 2010. You could try hunting out a band called Salem's two EPs on the web - an American XX

at the danger of being ridiculed dare I ask who it is?

they are called 'the XX'. very cool, melodic electronic. I'm not into this type of music but this had me from the intro. Having listened to it a few times already today it might be a bit 'samey' or it's my uneducated ear with this type of music... Would still recommend though.

Yes 'Boston Gardens 1974' & 'Roosevelt Stadium 1976'.
A couple of FM/pre FM recordings, excellent shows. One complete, and the other only missing Ritual.
What greater recommendation could a group have than being the N.M.E's all time worst band?

I thought they picked the Jonas Brothers?

Might be a recent update, Yes were certainly there a couple of years ago. Something makes me think the Jonas Brothers would not be a band I would like, even with such a strong recommendation.

The Guardian's (not very positive) review of "Avatar" contains the fantastic lines:
...involving memory-harbouring trees, intimate relationships with flying lizards, and other such prog-rock-influenced stylings. It really is like a Yes album cover come to life.

Quite makes me want to go and see it!

Something tells me that you are correct, and that I agree with you!

Interesting, the trailer I saw just looked like a brightly coloured computer game. I am not a fan of James Cameron, and seeing that amount of computer graphics would be like being at work for me (I do effects in film and TV, and get really sick of films with a lot of effects in them, hypocritical I know).

If you do like that kind of spectacle though, I hope you enjoy the film.

I do like Roger Dean's artwork though, it captures an innocence that is very appealing. I find it nothing like the Avatar trailer though, but I can see why some might think it so.

~<>~ Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) ~<>~

Die Kunst Der Fuge BWV 1080 ~ Version for 2 harpsichords
Recorded in Nov 1993 Waalse Kerk, Amsterdam

Ton Koopman
d'apres Ruckers, facteur Willem Kroesbergen, Utrecht 1979

Tini Mathot
d'apres Couchet, facteur Willem Kroesbergen, Utrecht 1987

[DDD] ERATO cd @1994 ~<>~

A recent addition to my growing collection of Art of fugue versions, this a very close exquisite sound that has imo a very agreeable relaxing feel, better than what I would expect from using 2 harpsichords. This maybe not my favourite A of F by far but definitely a fabulous listen.

Mint condition cd purchase at only £1 which included the p&p too!
I had no idea who or what version this was from the add on play.com, it only stated it was a 'used cd' Bach art of fugue BWV 1080 for a quid. I just had to gamble a quid on... the mystery.

But I am pleased! : )
