I've not heard this one, I assume you would recommend it? We need to sort out our listening sessions as well.

Great voice, great musicianship and great production. Every time I play it, which has been an awful lot, I just feel thoroughly uplifted. It always puts a big smile on my face and I don't think I'll tire of this one.

It will be the New Year before we meet up again now but if you don't get to hear it before then we'll put it on the playlist. I'm on the ship until Monday so I'll give you a call when I get home.

SNAP! Going to see them at Manchester Academy in March - got high hopes from youTube footage of them supporting Florence + the Machine. If you can stand listening to Nick Grimshaw on Radio 1 (unfortunately he's from my home town of Oldham) on Monday night from 7pm he's got them playing as part of his festivities.

Yes - it took a while but I am now enjoying it a lot more. Probably helped by seeing them live as well. They are playing dates in April I think - I have found a Southampton concert so far.

For me one of the most underrated soul voices around. Stand outs are the title track, "Him" and a cover of Norah Jones' "Don't Know Why".

I have my ticket for 23rd April but now I have a nagging feeling that we are going away that weekend and I'm going to miss it. Frown

Shame to miss it Mark.

Closing tonight with Harnoncourt's version of the 6th.

I just played the Joe Walsh album for Adrian the other day, think it is one of the best in this series sonically.

Neighbours decided to play some music really loud this morning. So I retaliated by whapping up the volume on the Joe Walsh AF disc. Needless to say they turned their volume down pretty fast. A case my Hi Fi is much louder then yours so don't try it on.

I got both replacement copies, the one where the mastering was still wrong and the right one - I guess one day the set of all three will be a real collectors item. Big Grin

I've noticed that a number of people use Audio Fidelity '24 kt gold' cds. Are these really superior quality recordings, and worth the extra £s ?

Would my system (cd5x/112x/150x)deliver the benefits or are they overkill at this level of system?

Thanks
