No Hifi now in the deepest countryside. Only a PC and headphones - thank goodness for FLAC.

I saw this regularly when released and decided not to buy it. Anyway, MilesSmiles told me it was good and it is now very cheap. Glad I bought it. Just had a good journey home from Brighton to this.

Of course it's only a matter of time, but my next box set purchase will be the complete keyboard sonatas of Scarlatti, which is available on the Presto classical CD site for around £59 (I've been watching this set for a while, and this is the lowest price I've seen).

Don't be put off by the thought of a "compilation" - this is superb folk music with an amazing line-up, including Martin & Eliza Carthy, Tunng, Chris Wood, Billy Bragg and Paul Weller.

1974 was a very good year and these vinyl editions bring out the emotion that was cut into those grooves Cool

This is so beautiful. 45RPM 180G RTI vinyl remastered by Bernie Grundman. Sounds superb.

MilesSmiles - is there a recommended CD version of this?

I have a nice Black Triangle of another Julie London title - I'm still looking for a great version on CD for this title, will let you know once I find it.

Well, I've been bellowing along with it. Smile

Actually yes, sonically very clear and an excellent recording considering how old the original tapes must be. Extremely atmospheric too, takes me back!

Recommended.

MOFI Vinyl. Michael Fremer gave this a superb review giving it his top score of 11 for sound quality and called this pressing "mandatory"
