I bought a vinyl version of this album just before FOPP records closed (£7!). A bit disappointed at the time as a lot of surface noise, have not tried cleaning it yet (VPI tucked away at moment) Relistening now, very dynamic sound despite the problem noise. Capitol records / EMI.
Any issues with your copy Munch?

Why? Because a good friend of ours did the artwork.

Apparently the chinese reception for these concerts was luke warm at best. The Chinese audience didn't understand the music and kept talking through them (the only bit they liked was the laser show)In find this a fine live album which I regularly revisit. Some classical oriental music into the mix makes for a interesting album.
Fishing Junks at Sunset was always my favorite 'new' track on this album.

I went through 3 copies of that exact album all with the same surface noise they are just a very bad batch of vinyl so I bought an original Italian pressing and its immaculate. I always found Fopps vinyl to be rubbish so I stopped shooping there in fact I found Fopp the worst record shop I've ever shopped at really.

Obits, I Blame You
Because of the false sticker in the lower right corner.
And because it's bl**dy good ol' post-punk-psychobilly-garage-rock'n'roll that makes you turn the pot to 11 and jump all over the place!!!
Enjoy!

That was yesterday evening, and you've seen it from me quite a few times already.
Joe Henry, Civilians
Because to me it's one of the most beautiful music ever. How come everybody doesn't have a copy yet ?

I do have a copy, since it was released. And I agree, criminally under-rated artist. Unique.

One tremendous album that deserves to stand on the pededestal with the other two masterpieces "Are You Experienced" and "Electric Ladyland".

The copy i have Mothed is a 1977 pressing i picked up this week, also on Capital E-ST11603.
Its better vinyl.
Stu
This copy is also S11-56853. The noise is only really apparent on the lead in side one and between tracks.

The playing by all concerned is stunningly tight and the production is clear and bright.Steve Hillage demonstrates his ability to not just burn off wild solos, but to use the guitar to generate all sorts of ambient soundscapes.
