Lontano, can you fill in some why on your choice of Ornette Coleman? Maybe I'm just too soft but since hearing him at the Barbican a few years back, I haven't come back to that album. Incredibly powerful but resulting in a form of not so mild concussion...

The Who "Sell Out" on SHM cd. Great music on what was perhaps the first real "concept" album, mad cover art and all.

Stu, if you get the chance give it a listen. There is new "Deluxe Edition" available here (the second disc is mono takes and dems of the tracks.) which is the same as the SHM as far as I can see - and a bloody sight cheaper! It is really good!

First listening, liked it,definitely "easy listening" tends to wash over me. Will need to take more notice next time.

Another album I can't see what all the fuss is about,OK he has a great voice, but he does nothing emotional for me. I must have a dead soul.

Charles Neville & Diversity
with James Singleton on Bass and John Vidacovich on drums.

Cause I am enduring the sweet irritations of withdrawing from cigarettes on the first day of nine days off from work, and I need to hear a little local "smooth & cool".

tonight i want to go to a small club and have drinks and this kind of music. it could rain on me, just a little, too.

my daughter comes in on monday, so want my head straight by then.

Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Ron Carter, Tony Williams and Wallace Rooney - A Tribute to Miles Davis, from a radio broadcast from Munich 1992.
Why am I listening to it, to remove clicks and imperfections in Soundforge prior to burning it to disc. Lovely performance.

Put it on because it was mentioned on another thread. I was sitting at my computer and a few clicks of the mouse and I was listening. I like it a lot and I particularly love the bass from Charlie Haden. I have not seem Ornette live. Think I should probably do that.

This is my Fave and most played BH album.
I dont have a vinyl copy though.

I went to see him live in Sydney a few years ago. I have not played anything of his since. One of my most disappointing live experiences ever.

For once Winker I agree with you Howard. Does not a lot for me. Pleasant enough.

Just got back from a trip to my favourite record store in Brighton, with a trip to the pier to keep the kids happy.

Played this on the way back. After much persuasion from Denis A thought I would give it a go.

Not bad at all. Hard to describe really - good pop/rock a mix of XTC and some of the more modern day rock that is around. At one point I sensed a bit of Snow Patrol in the mix although not too sure Denis would agree with me on that.
