On ECM - Jacob Young - Sideways. Last night I went to see Mathias Eick Quartet play live and was blown away by the superb Eick and his beautiful trumpet tone. Now I am going through all my albums that he also plays on, here supporting Jacob Young.

On Vinyl, a polished performance by the trio of trio of Ferry, guitarist Phil Manzanera, and saxophonist Andy MacKay.( Is that Ronnie from Eastenders? Winker)

Pearl Jam- Pearl Jam.

They have slowly become one of my favourite bands. The live performances are simply stunning and mostly what i listen to, but thought I'd give this a spin for a change.

Fantastic album by someone who I saw for the first time on 'Later with JH' 10 days ago. A wonderful mix of African rhythms and beautiful vocals.

The Jayhawks, Hollywood Town Hall

Because it's 90's country-rock at it's finest, and simply wonderful music.

Sort or arc in my listening today Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Britten and now Bernstein. Can never decide if the Mass is a work of genius or not.

Aimee Mann, Lost In Space, Special Edition, disc 2

The Special Edition, for some very fine live tracks, among which a cover of Coldplay's The Scientist. To me it conveys even more emotion than the original, and stands as one of the most beautiful songs she ever recorded.

And for the nice B-side Nightmare Girl.

I am willing to bet that hardly anyone here watched this fine film or has the sound track. Both are highly recommended:

Jean-Louis Murat, Lilith

Well, he's such a froggie thing, I don't even know where to start. It's very engaging music anyway, even if one doesn't have a clue to the lyrics.

To be fair, as he's considered a "poet", the lyrics can sound more like "music" than anything else, even if you're fluent in french Winker
