Lena Willemark "Windogur"

Posted by: Gunnar Jansson on 31 May 2002

I very seldom push my musical preferences on to anybody but this is IMO too good too miss. It´s Swedish composer, singer and musician that I just recently discovered.
My musical diet is mainly anglo-american music and this is actually the first time in a long while that I have listen to anything coming from Sweden that has caught my attention in this way.

What is it then? I really can´t describe it, you have to listen to it yourself.
Swedish folk music and jazz and far east influenses and lots more in to a melting pot played by top Swedish, (fairly onknown to rest of the World) jazz, folk and classical musicians. Exellent production.
The name of the album is Windogur ( eng. Window)by Lena Willemark. Give her a try and enjoy

Hi Nick!
sorry about my delayed reply. Been away on on a trip this Weekend.
I´ve been searching the webb on some samples but haven´t yet found anything.
I know she were a member of a group called Frifot and they were highly appreciated abroad of Sweden for their work, a friend and musician told me.
Sorry can´t help you more.
The label is Amigo. (www.amigo.se)
You get information in English there.

Nick!
take a look at the homepage of amigo and choose english version. I think I´ve overlooked something there. Not sure if there is a sample of that record though. Haven´t time to check that now.
Got to go. (In a hurry)

OK.
There´s some download you can do on the links.
They don´t work? Sorry but I can´t help you more at this moment. (A lot to do at work).
I wouldn´t be surprised if you can find Willemark (or Frifot) at your favourite record store.
I know I shouldn´t say this but .....
Just buy it, you won´t regret it.
