co-ax runs

Posted by: kenngxx on 24 August 2006

I,m moving my av set up ,and the spot where its going has a co-ax wall socket connected (invisibly? to the loft space.
TO connect another cable( for sky+ or an aerial )is going to be difficult and not very neat due to the position.
Does anyone know of any way of sending two signals down the one coax.either a sky and aerial, or two sky signals for sky+ ,so I can watch one channel and record another one?
at present I only use sky for all channels and have no aerial.
Thanks in advance

Yes something like this will multiplex the signals into one coax. You then use a demultiplexer at the other end. It also lets you view SKY (or any other compatable box) and control it by remote in another room.

Thanks Stuart.
Didn't know such a thing existed.
I'll now try to figure out how to do it!

Hi stuart,

Can I use this same method to distribute my NTL cable TV throughout my london home??

Looks great!

If the NTL box outputs an RF signal yes it should work.

If you want to send the TV distribution you could use something like this to combine the feed with a standard TV signal and distribute that.

If the NTL box only outputs a composite/RGB/Svideo signal then you could use an RF modulator to distribute it.

More info here http://www.satcure.co.uk/accs/rfmod.htm

I doubt if the remote control would work but there are solutions out there for that if you needed it.

As per the OP you will need Sky Plus box if you wish to record one channel on Sky and watch another on Sky.
