sky are just a bunch of greedy b******s

hello all,
just wanted to express my feelings for this mob.
have had sky+ for quite a few years now and before that had normal sky tv. so all in all have been a very good customer over the years and ALWAYS!! paid on time through direct debit.
so for the last 6 months or so have been having an ongoing battle with sky over the connection to my second upstairs skybox which aparently wasnt calling back. subsequently sky wrote me and basically said i MUST have this upstairs connected to a phone line (which it always was.
the problem seemed to be stemming from my internet connection with onetel. anyway to cut to the point after a sky box replacement and many engineers visits from bt sky and onetel. they decided i wasnt trying hard enough and told me i would have to pay the full rate as i was getting £10 off for having 2 boxes in a special promotion when i first got sky+
then i got a backdated bill for £30. wrote to sky and after numerous phone calls decided to terminate the upstairs contract so only have sky downstairs now. this problem was never down to me as the box was always connected and seems it was a technical problem with the broadband connection. now what really gets my goat is the fact i was trying everything to sort the problem but sky wasnt prepared to listen to me at all. and if thats how they treat their valued long term customers then they can stick it. im going to move soon and change to telewest cable. i have noticed more and more pay per view football matches are becoming almost normal viewing now. which in my book is wrong as i pay my subscription for sky tv , why should i have to pay more on top just to catch a live game or boxing bout!
if you ask me sky are a greedy company which has got too big for their boots and are being allowed to dictate to customers in particular .
fuck me! they even dictate ko times and change dates to suit themselves.
ITS ALL WRONG AND THEY NEED STOPPING!!
end of rant.

Jesus, I've had two letters from them threatening me over one of my boxes not being connected to the phone line. Better sort it out before I suffer a similar fate.

Hi Dave;

Get a Freeview terrestrial digi-box.

It suits me just fine, with no subscription fees. I have a PACE Twin-Digital tuner, with a built in hard-drive (like the Sky+ Box) Around £200.

I have no interest whatsoever in paying for Sky TV channels.

John.

I'm afraid, from personal experience, Teleshite has never knowingly connected the words "customer" and "service" in the same breath either.

Chaps

Simple remedy, go somewhere else.

NTL has improved significantly since their once lousy service caused customers to go elsewhere.

No cable in my area so my choices are either terrestrial or Sky. Digital is not meant to be available in my area though I get every channel so not ever getting Sky.

I refuse to give Murdoch any more money than I have to and believe that Sky is a complete ripoff.

Add to that, I don't watch enough TV to justify getting Sky either.

hi all,
john . yes thats ok but i like to watch premier games and other sports so youve still got to pay for these so called prime channels for all your sports. otherwise i would go with freeview.
