Network streams from NaimNet room amps, yes-via iLinX.

Hi.
Could you explain it a bit more, what does local output mean.
Do I have to have a NaimNet room amp for it to work.
Thanks.

What that means is that the iPhone/iPod Touch application "iLinx" will control a NetStreams device (i.e. NNP01 room amp) but not control a NaimNet server directly (NS01/02/03/HDX).
Controlling the local analogue output from a Naim server (DIN/RCA) is something that requires direct control (use the hand held remote supplied or a Flash Enabled web browser on a PC, Mac, etc).
A Netstreams device on the other hand is merely accessing the files on the server (independant from the local playback). The Netstreams control is different enough, from a technology perspective, that NetStreams have written an iPhone/touch application that works.
I beleive that with the new version of the OS software for the iPhone/touch Adobe are working on a flash plugin for it that properly implements Flash technology that will allow control of Naim servers....we will hold our breath on that one.
In the meantime, we use things like the Nokia N800/810, a PC or MAC, a laptop, the supplied remote or the onboard touch screen.
