Six-wheeled coupe is coming (Covini C6W)

Posted by: MilesSmiles on 10 December 2008

After decades delay the C6W with over 400 horsepower and 300 km/h is going into production.

The Covini Engineering team's been clamoring to get the C6W into production for the last 30+ years. Now they might finally have their day...

Is there a new Thunderbirds film? What a waste of space, tyres and engineering.
BTW Corvette already make a car that shape.

This seems a solution to a quaestion nobody asked.

Tyrrell tried this in F1 ,amy years ago. Also trucks and coaches have used this.
Goes agains Colin Chapman's philosophy of adding lightness. Also he used elegant solutions whereby one component did two jobs. The Chapman strut being one.

So 30 years to create a complex expensive hogh performance car into a global recession.

If you have any money left what will you buy?

Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston,Bentley etc etc

or this?

I would settle for either:

Bristol Fighter

Ford Falcon G series FPV F6 R spec with all the toys.

Sorry for my lack of enthusiasm for this car, but really.

Try also a GTM Libra, Lotus Elise, Noble great engines and chassis and fabulous performance for relatively low cost and running expenses.

95% the performance in real terms on the road and 10-20% of the cost.

From the link, the reasons for having four front wheels:

Less risk of front tires deflating
• Less risk of aquaplaning
• Better braking
• Better grip
• Better comfort
• Better absorption of frontal impact

Pretty much a loada cobblers.

In the Youtube video in the link... doesn't seem to corner or brake any more than any sporty coupe, and seems stuck in one gear!

Some say he can dislocate his own neck others that he is invisible, much like a fully working version of the C6W I suspect.

I hear he can do up his own shoelaces. With his toes.

Coo ROTF! 10,000 posts! Big Grin

Anyway, I want one. Then I can go round at parties asking everyone how many wheels they've got on their cars and being able to top them all!

I'll get lots of invites!

Panther six in the 1970's that was inspired by the Tyrell six wheeler comes to my mind. It never reached production, nether will this!
