Dac and Olive XPS?

May be a silly question but I have been asked if an Olive XPS can be used with the DAC. My initial thought was no but could someone give adefinitive answer and why?

Yes it can be used. Sorry, I can't give you the definitive reason for why.

In my experience, an olive XPS adds little to the DAC. A Powerline on the DAC alone gave greater musical insight. IMHO.

Honestly (if honesty is viable on this forum

) there are better options than XPS on the market: they are smaller, cheaper and the sound is "cleaner" than XPS. At least to my ears (I didn't try it against XPS2 and 555PS). Some people at PFM say that 555PS is still better.

Unfortunately for us (and fortunately for Naim) they are not widely available for audition
