NAC 72 CD boards ?

Posted by: JosephR on 05 February 2001

I was briefly at my dealer and casually spoke with his technician on how to install the phono boards that I borrowed from them. Earlier, we had problems looking for the phono boards as most were for the newer model preamps i.e. "laying down", while the 72's were "standing up" types. He then mentioned that the 72's CD boards were also replaceable. At that point I was rushing to another appointment and couldn't find him later.

I guess every vinyl-playback users here know about the phono boards (K, S, E, N). My query is whether anyone here knows what the CD board type are and which type is the best CD board ? Are they also still available from Naim ?

Joseph,

Two possibilities spring to mind;

1. Replacements could mean later versions of the existing boards.

2.Straight-through boards that you would use when converting a phono stage to another line level in - these contain no active componants but merely link the pins through from what would have been the "boards in" to the "board out" pins (not certain,but I think that these are the 326 boards)

You could have a look at the "board pulling" section on "Flat Earth" button the following link
