Can you have a wide taste in Music and like Phil Collins?

I can't see it myself.

I mean I loved early Genesis and Brand X were a fine outfit and all that but the thought of Phil Collins in a tight shiny suit attempting to dance and sing simultaneously in a poppy style really makes my flesh crawl. Awful stuff. Made him bloody rich though I guess.

Some people will do anything for money.......

The unacceptable face of mediocrity.
"You can't hurry love" - where's my bucket?

The only thing that doesn't make me want to reach for the off-switch (or an axe) is "In the Air Tonight" or whatever the hell its called.

I wouldn't go that far, his mum must love him, no ?

I have to admit I loved his first solo album, but now I can't stand to listen to it. For me he passed the point of no return when he sang a song for a film. I can't recall the title of the song nor the film. Although the film wasn't that bad, would have been in 1985 more or less.

For a few years the flavour he added to music was quite palatable, a very syncopated Earth, Wind and Fire style, I even saw him in concert. But times change.

That would have to be Against All Odds. Does that mean I'm a fan red face

Remember when he played that guy on Miami Vice? What was he called?

Jay,

yes Against all odds, with James Wood & Jeff Bridges IIRC. Film was ok, maybe better. But the title song was pure Barry Manilow I felt.

Don't know if it makes you a phan tho.

Miami Vice, yeah, pal! Our cable networrk is showing reruns of this, it's pretty kitsch, but enjoy watching it. Castillo cracks me up.
