New 'j***' label: MA Recordings

Discovered an interesting jazz label:
MA recordings http://www.marecordings.com
If you like the Naim Audio samplers that have been given away with Hi-Fi Choice magazine then you will like this label.

I got the CD 'Naser' from my local library.
Piano, Sax and accordion. Performances of Portugese and Serfadic melodies.

Audio samples of the music can be downloaded from the web site.

Pukka digital recording (before I'm attacked by fellow vinylphiles, yes, analogue is best) like e.g. Cowboy Junkies Trinity Sessions.

Hi

Yes MA is an interesting label, though not new. They use a technique similar to our True Stereo method of recording; to have two microphones set up in a room with good acoustics, then record direct.

I must say, hopefully not that predictably, that if you like the samplers we have given away with Hi Fi Choice, you will love the music we have on our label. Just approaching the one hundreth title of interesting, beautifully recorded music.

Haim Ronen is the resident MA recordings expert on the forum and he has been pushing this label for quite some time.

Hopefully he can chip in with his list of the best MA Recordings, of which he has many, at some point.

Cheers
