Usain Bolt is an extraordinary man.
And what a fantastic effort by Jessica Ennis.

He is a freak of nature.
And well done Jess for a superb performance. Not only did she win but did so by winning 4 out of the 7 disciplines outright, I think.

And he's only 22!
Maurice Green says he's yet to run a complete race (he's only been running the 100m for two years) so he's learning as he goes along.
Mind blowing stuff.

If Usain Bolt really tries, I reckon he'll get down to 9.40 secs within the next couple of years.
I remember crying when he won the 100 metres in the Olympics last year. I think that my brain was so confused by what I'd seen that I didn't know how to respond emotionally: just at the point when other athletes started straining, he relaxed and exulted in the victory that he knew he'd have a couple of seconds later. Totally amazing!
Tonight I just laughed out loud at how outrageously superior he was.
But let's not take anything away from our new national pin-up girl, either. She was quite superb.

... just amazing.

I was actually quite surprised at how close Tyson Gay was! I know 1-2 meters is a long way in 100m terms, but Tyson was as far forward of the rest as Bolt was to him. Gives me hope that the next few championships won't all be Usain Bolt, but even if they are that he might be stretched to perform even better.

I bet the first thing the games officials did was test him!

Aye, she did great. Loved the way she came back from losing the lead down the home straight to win the final event.
With her talent (and looks

Over in the blink of an eye.

In a way the Olympic race seemed more amazing, the ease and general insouciance with which he blew everyone away. This time he did have the good grace to actually appear to be trying!

Guys, you don't think he might really be a woman then?

Usain Bolt is an extraordinary man.
Half an hour of pre-race showboating, 9 1/2 seconds of genuinely amazing performance, then another who-knows-how-long of post-race mugging and posing (has he even stopped yet? doubtful).
Extraordinarily gifted man, yes, but from a sportsmanship perspective, essentially every other competitor in the race (and most other races I watched) showed him up badly.

Now 19.19 secs in the 200M - another record. History in the making indeed.

Ah, but is he as fast as a Naim amp?

Bolt is great - i just think you're slightly bitter because he's not a shy, retiring American sprinter...
