Extra Inputs on 102

Help - Advice needed!
I am running out of inputs on my Pre-Amp.

Would it be advisable/good practise to split the Tape (Input 4) so that the input was used for my CDI and the output to the Headline by making up a lead to suit?

Thanks,
Don.

That will work just fine, assuming that the splitter cable you use to replace it is as good as the original. Because the Headline's cable is captive, what you'll need is a custom interconnect with an extra female connector for the Headline. Give Naim a call and see if they can make one up for you.

Thanks for your reply Mike.

I had a feeling this would be OK, as all 6 sockets are standard high level inputs and the Headline requires a signal from a Tape socket.

I will probably use Input 6, as this is the only one of the tape inputs(4,5,6) on a 102 without a monitoring facility - which of course I would not need for CD + Headline.

This would leave Input 4 as the cassette tape in/out & Input 5 for my CDR/HD in/out.

Best wishes,
Don.
