If you want to hear the Jay-Z into The Beatles remix thing that Dangermouse did, and EMI has blocked, it's here.
I don't think this is sketchy, in that it was only ever a promo thing.

So much for the bullshit about the majors needing their fat profits to promote new music...

Cool, thanks. I'd be interested in hearing what Jay-Z thinks of it.

Join the fun
Close to 30 Web sites plan to kick off an act of "coordinated civil disobedience" next Tuesday by putting up downloads of a controversial album despite EMI's demands that the album be destroyed.

I can see EMI point of view on this. If they didn't ask for permission etc (which they didn't). However had they asked for permission, and payed royalty then EMI would have been mad to reject it. This sort of thing is likeley to turn many untypical fans on the the Beatles, which would benefit EMI in the long run.

"Try before you buy" Vs "The download scum are robbing me blind" prehaps two sides of the same coin. On the radio this morning I listened to a report about a lady in the USA who is taking some of the big record companies to court under the RICO laws.

And it also works the other way.
I'm listening to the Black Album by way of the Grey album and I admit it's not that bad. There's been worse rap albums, to be sure.
This coming from a fan of the White Album.

I spent way too much time browsing and not enough time doing my research project this afternoon. I found 2 more Black Album remixes (@ Stones Throw's store):
Bazooka Joe's "The Silver Album" (Jay-Z over RJD2)
Paul Nice vs. Jay-Z "The Unofficial Black Album Remix"
