3 Questions in one...

Hi,
I have recently added an XPS2 and 282 to my system. It currently lives on a 5 shelf amp rack (Mana), and the sixth shelf is the soundstage underneath it all.
Front top to bottom the system is: Linn TT, CDX2, 282, XPS2, 180, hi-cap/napsc/stageline.

Question 1:
I am getting a noticeable buzzing from the XPS2. I assume this is due to its being close to the 180 and the transformers conflicting?!?

Question 2:
I assume that by separating the CDX2/282/TT from the XPS2/hi-cap/180 that this will have a beneficial effect on the sound and hopefully the buzzing?

Question 3:
If I went for two racks living side by side (a total of 6 shelves), what would be the most effective combination re stacking (notwithstanding either staying with Mana or buying Fraim)?

I can potentially go to six shelves initially re fraim, so the napsc and stage line would need to be accomodated either on the same shelf as the HI-cap.... Roll Eyes

Any help-suggestions gratefully recieved..

They don't make oil rigs out of wood these days.So I guess you'll have to put up with comments. I have steel work as well not M***.
Would like wood but it will some time before FRAIM or such like replaces it.
Still not convinced about benefits of different stands.

Hi,
quote:
Are you sure that the buzzing is not normal? My xps2 buzzes like an angry bee sometimes and is on the shelf above a supercap, which I would imagine to be a noisy thing.

thanx to the usual suspects for your replies. Spoke to my dealer and he basically says the same as you, ag.
I only have room for two racks and also cannot because of the modern house I live in consider a wall shelf.
So, a further question, in what order would you put which kit on what (if you get my meaning)?
P.s. I have not ruled out keeping the Mana and getting another one. I have approached my dealer for the loan of a Fraim...in which to do a comparison Smile!
