I want one. Who makes/sells them? Which are the best?

Do you mean like the one in Dev's system picture?
If so, it's made by Mathmos (the people who also do the lava-lamps).
Cheers

I have one. They are projectors and although quite expensive they are good fun.

Yeah, those things. For projecting psychedelia on the walls. Seems like the right system upgrade for me at present.
I saw one in a thrift store for $5... couldn't get it to light up, but the motor turned, and it had the liquid disc thing. Should have picked it up and tried to fix it.

We have swapped out the oil filled discs for some of the dotted discs in ours because our son (9 months) gurgles like mad when he sees it.
It's brilliant.

Alex - Dotted disks?

We got a pack of replacement cartridges and slides from Mathmos. The disks are basically a piece of plastic that is covered with coloured dots against a contrasting background. Current fave is blue dots against a yellow background.
The slides are clear plastic of a single colour, eg purple, and change the colour schemes around.
The effect is a swirling pattern of coloured dots - which is no good if you get dizzy easily
If I remember, I'll take a picture later tonight.

It spins, and it's possible to change the colours by sticking different filters in there.
All in all, it's blinkin' marvellous.

Looks good.
I shall investigate the packs of additional "refills" to get some of this action.
Are those squares I can see on your wall or the projector?
