Pre-amp Tests

Received a very interesting call from my buddy that while waiting for the world to turn, he installed a 112 in place of his 82, which was powered by a Supercap and was astonished by the sound. Made us wonder if it was the Supercap that made the most impact on the sound quality of the Pre-amps.

So, we have now got hold of a 112, 72, 102, 82, Faltcap2, Hi-cap and Supercap and am going to lock ourselves in a room with a CDS, CD5, 250 and a pair of SBL and try every combination possible. I know someone will definitely say, "Well, the answer is obvious!!" Not quite, because what we really want to find out is which combination gives the best value.

I think we are missing a CDX, though.

Any thoughts?
