..otherwise, it's probably a puck problem. Do a search on the forum for 'puck'

Not to worry.

Barbara Streisand sounds the same way in my player too.

You're not playing Sarah Brightman are you?

If not, sort your puck out.

Or more likely a slipping puck.

You need to tweak your rubber bits.

'Flick' them with a finger and they can be made to turn in the puck. They become compressed if left in the player for extended periods with a CD
(fine if no CD in player).

They then fail to grip the disc, causing a scraping noise at start-up, or during track changes.

Oh, make sure your spindle's clean too - Naim recommend bluetak to remove dust etc, see the manual for more info.

If this doesn't work, talk to the nice people at Naim.

Andy.

Is this a new player?

You haven't left the transit bolts in place, have you?

Make sure not to tip the player up too much when you take them out.

cheers, Martin

I have had the same problem with some disks that are to thin. Twicking the rubber bits sometimes isn't enough, sellotape across the hole (with the hole then cut out) usually does the job.
