Help! - How to record the rugby in Amsterdam!!

Posted by: GarryM on 17 October 2007

Hi
Many months ago I arranged to see Musical Box play in Amsterdam. The concert is Saturday night during the Rugby World Cup final! Can anyone help me with what I need to record the match - I have a laptop (PC) and I have seen advertised USB thingamywatsits which receive digital tv. Does anyone know whether these things will work in Amsterdam? Are aerial and electrical sockets the same there? Any help much appreciated!

You won't get UK digital abroad.

But what about Dutch digital? Is there such a thing? I know they have been watching it so it's on something - satellite perhaps?

No TIVO or PVR then. How about a neighbour/friend to record it?

In Amsterdam I'm known as Billy-no-mates... I've never been there before and know nobody there who could record it for me. The Hotel can't help either. My hope is to record it on my laptop somehow and then get back to the Hotel after the gig (doing my best not to hear or see the result) and then to watch it. Any Dutch naimees out there?

You can watch the game on the ITV website.

Speak to the people in the sports bar (Leidseplein)They have so much televisual communication in there I would be surprised if they could'nt. Worth a try ( Roll Eyessorry)

Thanks HHD - good suggestion. As it happened I was already there by then and had decided to just enjoy the concert - which was excellent as usual. Also good news that Musical Box are not finishing but will be back with the "A Trick of the Tail" tour next year.
