Magic Numbers

I got this earlier in the summer and have just realised it's the album I have played most in years.

It really is very, very good.

A mighty fine record I agree. Saw them on Jools Holland on the telly, and bought the album when I was next in a record shop. Strangely impulsive for me, but memorable tunes.

I bought it shortly after release-still playing it lots too. The bonus track (about 5mins after it all seems to have ended) is worth hanging on for.

Anyone who like this would probably like the Hal debut album.

Well written and performed songs and a great attitude. Without doubt one of my favourite albums of the year.

Just a great CD for cranking up and singing along to badly with beer in hand.

Catch them live - they are great.

Picked this up today, listening to it as I type. Erm.. is this a grower? I'm finding it a bit bland, so far (first time I'm playing it)

I'll answer my own question; yup it's a grower. Playing it for the second time and its brilliant.

I have the album and saw them live at V Fest. They are excellent live! They were really enjoying themselves and the music (to my ears anyway) was spot-on.

Out of a group of about 10 people, I was the only one who found the Magic Numbers really great.

Most of the others were keen on Kaiser Chiefs, who were OK but seemed more focused on their own self-importance. (The lead singer was very annoying. A number of times he tried to get the crowd to chant "Kaiser Chiefs! Kaiser Chiefs!" Thankfully that fell flat.)

So, different strokes and all that.

Yes I agree it's a great album. Saw them supporting Brian Wilson in July and they were excellent live too.

After "finding" this CD and case in a car. I played it and wondered what all the fuss was about.
But when I read about an extra track I realised that the CD was by Bright Eyes in MN case.
I have now borrowed this from the library and listened once. Good+ so far.

Listened to this for the first time last night, (despite having it on the shelf for a couple of months) and It's excellent, A bit of a dip towards the end but overall very good indeed.

In fact I like it more than the Hal album which I have had for months and is also good, but not up to MN standards
