NME'THIEF' CAUGHT ONLINE!

RADIOHEAD's new album 'HAIL TO THE THIEF' has appeared online - and JONNY GREENWOOD has played down suggestions the album title is a direct attack on GEORGE W BUSH.

Over the weekend, the band's sixth album was leaked onto the Internet, prompting fans across the globe to download it. This morning (March 31), bandmember Jonny Greenwood made an appearance on the official Radiohead messageboard, where he said he was "surprised" the record was online, months before its official June 9 release date. When asked what was up, he jokingly replied "the album, apparently".

And sure enough, these have all appeared on Kazaa:

TRACK LISTING:
2 + 2 = 5
Sit Down. Stand Up
Sail To The Moon
Backdrifts
Go To Sleep
Where I End And You Begin
We Suck Young Blood
The Gloaming
There There
I Will
A Punch-Up at a Wedding
Myxamatosis
Scatterbrain
A Wolf At The Door

Not being a huge fan of the earlier stuff, I've had a nosey to see what direction they have taken.

So far, only Backdrifts and Punch Up At A Wedding have caught my ear. Still, MP3 through my monitor speakers is hardly a fair trial. Perhaps there are rippling basslines and glitches galore that I am missing. Still, on first listen, it's not something that a typical Warphead would immediately rush out for.

Hmm, Myxamatosis is ok too. Smile

Been listening to the new album thanks to Kazaa!

What ive heard so far does not tie in with what the band having been saying in the press, i.e. this album is more like the Bends & OK Computer.
Yes it is more commercial than the last two CD's but it borrows more from these CD's than their earlier work.
But i like the newer darker side i so far have enjoyed it, with regard to sound quality, i managed to get hold of 192 Mp3 which is ok.
